Educator Information

NHC brings together outstanding student leaders from around the globe to spend ten days at Loyola Marymount University focusing on their academic pursuits.  Each NHC program begins with a unique leadership curriculum designed to help students fulfill their potential and culminates with a hands-on career focused practicum in Business, Law, Medicine, Television & Film or Leadership.

Whatever a student's career path, strong leadership skills are essential.  Success requires integrity, determination, effective communication and teamwork.  Leaders must risk failure and embrace change.   The Honors Convocation leadership curriculum is presented in partnership with Churchill Leadership, founded by Sir Winston Churchill’s granddaughter, Celia Sandys. Churchill Leadership has distilled Churchill’s essential principles and leadership strategies into behavioral based programs which show people how  to develop their leadership skills and take action.

Following the leadership curriculum, students turn their new knowledge into skills by working in career-focused groups to: create and implement a business plan; prepare and present a criminal trial; make and present diagnostic patient determinations; or produce a short film project.  Student's gain unique insight and experience into their prospective career by interacting with leading professionals in Business, Law, Medicine, or Television & Film.

We understand that your students have many options for summer programs.  NHC provides them a unique opportunity to meet with leading professionals in hands on career workshops.  For a sampling of the faculty and guest speakers please visit NHC speakers.
